Why did you join X PLUS?

The products and customers were often limited and I found X PLUS at a time when I was wishing that I could work more closely with customers, broaden my horizon, use the experience I was gaining to try new things and continue growing.

There were both a wide variety of customers and products and something told me I could get even more experience than I was at the time so I decided to join X PLUS.

What is a job that had a lasting impression on you?

We were producing the most products and generating the most amount of sales when we were planning and selling products made out of Harris Tweed such as bags, shoes and accessories.

The number of sales was huge but so was the response! It turned into a big deal and you could hear people talking about it in shops and even on social media, which is something I will never forget.

My children were still young at the time and I would head to go pick them up after work inished.

Between that and the amount of things I had to do, there was very little time and sometimes I was so busy that I would forget if I actually did something or not. Despite that, I had the support of my team and sometimes I wonder if the fact that time was so limited was pushing me to really focus on myself, figure things out and get through such a massive job.

When I took maternity leave, I felt like my career got reset in a positive way.

Rather than just picking up where I left off, I actually felt like I was starting something new and, if I hadn’t taken maternity leave, perhaps the number of products I took on and the customers would not have grown as much as they did.

The environment at X PLUS allowed me to come back and try something new which I feel made it possible to gain a new perspective.

What do you like about X PLUS?

Honestly, the fact that it is constantly changing.

President Ohashi has said that 30% of all products we sell every year should be new products.

I think it's usually incredibly hard to keep changing something and perhaps it's more common for people not to be able to do that even if they know that they should. However, that's the stance our president takes which allows everyone to also go that same direction, present new ideas and try new things.

We're a company that values individuality and those who take on new challenges and I think that makes X PLUS a very attractive place to work for those who want to create new jobs.
